The Vex Robotics Ant is one of a collection of kits that are giant versions of the very successful Hexbug creatures. It uses a simplified version of the Vex Robotics Brain. The Brain has two motor and two sensor connections. The Ant has two touch sensors, one at the front and one at the back. Programming is done by flipping a set of small switches on the brain and testing the robot until it shows the required behaviour. Each brain in the collection comes set up for the appropriate robot. The controller is simplified, too. Usefully, the Ant can be configured to roam around by itself, without needing any control input. The Vex Robotics Ant has particularly large wheels that enable it to drive over rough terrain. It is built using parts that are compatible with Vex IQ parts.
